The CLIC Model
In the center circle are:
- the School (T/S - teachers & students)
- the Library (School, Public, and Other)
- the FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions database).
On the perimeter are:
- Curriculum Specialists who work directly with the Schools
- the IntraNet which is Internet techonologies used in local context
- the Community made up of all the local community such as local government,
civic agencies, and business enterprises
- the Content which has been produced by the Community
The process works like this:
- The Library acts as broker connecting projects with players. On scenario
is that community members make a query that leads to working with school.
Another scenariois that school queries lead to partnering with community.
The Green arrows indicate the two way brokering process.
- The partnering uses the network as the channel for communications
-- the blue circle.
- Content is specific to various entities - orange and green vertical
bars.
- Geographic Information Systems Applications (GIS) cut horizontally
through specific content areas.
- There will be CLIC projects that will be repeated at appropriate intervals
(e.g., monthly, annually, quarterly) The yellow dots indicate one exercise
that has been repeated four times so far.
- Questions / queries will be included in a FAQ database that will be
used by School, Library, and Community over the IntraNet as a point of quick
