A Night at the Virtual-Ball Game
Last night I hopped on a bus with my Dad, Brother-in-Law, and
nephew to attend a Baltimore Orioles Game. The game was finally
cancelled due to a power outage... what a joke. I could remove
splinters in the "poor light" that was there. Guess that goes to show
what prissy prima donna's our supposed "sports heroes" have become.
At any rate I had fun going around and snapping digital photoes. Have
a look at a few below.

Let's see, if I stretch my arm way out, I think I can get myself into the picture...... |

Ok, they did turn off most all the lights one time during the evening. But, sheesh........... |

It's getting late now. These two ladies were in charge of the charter bus special that we took advantage of to see the game. Evidently Sue doesn't want a photo taken. |
|
Well, one thing for certain was that the fans were consuming all sorts of solids and liquids while waiting for a decision. I decided to go out for a walk to see what's up in vendor land. |

I guess I didn't get a picture of my brother-in-law, Ken. But, he at one time saw this sign when he went to get his bar-b-q sandwich ..... oh, the line at one time was at least two and one half times longer than this point down the lane. |

Food and Drink were not the only two things present to keep folks happy. This fuzzy picture is the GIANT TeeVee SCREEN that was showing the New York Yankees playing the Kansas City Royals game. Gosh, tee-vee sports, beer, food! What more could you ask for? Well, in fact my seat was just below the huge sign and my back was to the image... so, I got to watch a sell out crowd watch the screen. sigh. But, it was fun -- after all. |

This is really hard to read, but it is the menu for micro-brewery beers from around the area. So, those of you who know me realize -- I was somewhat mollifide. |
|
My friend Jerry Trott is a long time Oriole's fan. I went looking for something to carry back to Durham for him. Well, I did come across a T-shirt and a bumper sticker. What more could a guy ask for?? |

Boy the food was abundant. It was definitely a two pepcid(tm) evening. ...... pardon me but, burp. |
|
Dad is intently reading the small print on his ticket to see what our options are when they cancle the game. To tell you the truth I don't remember what he found out. |

Here's Brett talking on his wireless phone. I used it to do a 1-800 direct to Durham, NC. Sally got a chuckle out of the whole event. |

This was a group of interns from California. They asked me to take their photo ... and then handed me 6 different cameras. I figured "What the Heck" and snapped one with my camera. Somewhere in the picture are: Christina Newman, Helena Holmes UCSB, Kellie James, Joy Jaeger UCLA, Jill Cramer UCSB, Amy Blumberg UCSB, and Gabe Rubins (gabe@mcl.ucsb.edu). |
