Senior Manager, Knowledge and Information Management (KIM), Internet2, Washington,DC.
The Senior Manager of KIM is responsible for planning, development, production, and maintenance of the Internet2 web based applications, electronic collections, and online collaboration spaces. Also have worked with the Internet2 Middleware Shibboleth project and the Pennsylvania State University LionShare project.

August 2001 to September 2004
Chief Information Architect, End-to-End Performance Initiative, Internet2, Washington,DC.
The Chief Information Architect is responsible for planning and production of electronic collections and collaboration spaces for the End-to-End Performance Initiative.

December 1998 to August 2001
Senior Project Coordinator, Distributed Applications Support Team (DAST) of the National Laboratory for Applied Network Research (NLANR) at the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (NCSA), University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign.
The Senior Project Coordinator is responsible for strategic planning and outreach activities for the DAST by applying leading edge technologies appropriately to research and education. I worked with other technologists to develop the Advance Application Clearinghouse, an online clearinghouse of high performance applications and personnel.

The Director has programmatic responsibility for an array of existing projects (e.g., a virtual electronic library initiative), development and support of pending projects (including one with a national supercomputing center), and pursuit of new initiatives beneficial to SURA's members.

Working with organizations to improve, integrate, and/or aggregate implementation of Networked Information Technologies.

Speaking on topics designed to demonstrate future trends in information technologies and how they can be applied to specific needs or interests.

Design workshops to transfer technical knowledge and expertise toensure that organizations better understand technologies and their impact on work, learning, and life.

Clients include: The City of Boulder Public Library, The United Kingdom Higher Education Funding Councils Joint Information Steering Committee, the Southeast Online Network Monticello Electronic Library, the European Academic Research Network, and other organizations.

Working with the University Libraries and the University Computer and Networking Services on projects related to networked information discovery and retrieval.

Develop projects to demonstrate leading edge uses of networked information technologies in the emerging global information infrastructure.

February 1985 to June 1988: Manager of Academic Services, The University of North Carolina Educational Computing Service, Research Triangle Park, NC.

Plan and coordinate academic computer support services for the constituent members of UNC-ECS, which includes the 17 campuses of The University of North Carolina system as well as other educational organizations in th e state of North Carolina.

Manage the university portion of the North Carolina State Contract for Microcomputers with combined annual sales exceeding $60,000,000.00. Includes writing specifications, supervising evaluation of submissions, and making final recommendations to the Depar tment of Purchase and Contracts.

Develop and manage an ongoing outreach program of on-site training and consulting for faculty and administrative use of computing in higher education.

Create and manage microcomputer laborator ies. The laboratory at UNC-ECS serves multiple purposes: product evaluation, faculty training, and solving problem situations. The UNC-ECS Faculty Mini Microcomputer Laboratories consist of two microcomputers and one printer. Placed at eight of the UNC uni versities in order they provide computing resources for faculty.

Supervise four professional staff and one clerical staff. Staff specialists include two systems analysts, one applications and network resources specialist, and one curriculum materials specialist.
